This symbol called Djed represents stability, determination, strength and is associated with the Gods Ptah and Osiris. The Djed is the oldest symbol of Osiris and was of great religious significance to the Ancient Egyptians. The ancient Egyptians thought that these pillars, which also resembled the human spine, were found in all four corners of the world and kept the planet alive.
